sniff...my baby is 5!

So this post has nothing to do with scrapbooking or crafting but I thought I would give you a glimpse into our little family here at CraftySteals.com.

Our oldest little guy is turning 5 this weekend and I am not sure whether to smile or cry. He is sooo excited...he has been looking forward to his birthday, well, since the day after his 4th birthday. He is thrilled by everything to do with his birthday... his parties, presents, cake, being the center of everything. That makes me smile.

But when I look through pictures like the ones below I want to cry. Everyone has told me that time flies when you have children but I did not believe them when I was stuck at home all day with two babies (our boys are 15 months apart), up all night with two babies, etc... But now looking back on it, it surely does. My baby boy is growing up and that makes me want to cry. I can't even think about kindergarten this fall without tearing up....I can already tell this is going to be a weepy year for Mommy :)

Happy 5th Birthday to my little guy, Parker.

  2. Time flies way too fast. I have four children and will have my fourth grandchild in August.
My oldest turns 30 in two weeks. I had four children in five years so mine are very close in age too. They are also very close to each other. Enjoy every minute.

  7. Happy belated birthday to him! Wait until he goes to kindergarten in the fall...his younger brother will be SO envious!!

My daughters are 30 months apart and the younger one couldn't WAIT to go to school like her sister did. In fact, she even wanted and got the same kindergarten teacher her sister had.

My 2 daughters are 22 & 19 now...but the good news is I have a 7 year old stepson whom I get to see growing up which is just a completely different story!!

  10. I'm a stay at home mom of two girls, 16.5 mos apart, and my oldest just turned 6!

It has truly been an amazing experience, this letting go. All the little bits of their personalities that were just peeking through as babies and toddlers finally seem to coalesce. And they are just such funny little people.

Yesterday, my oldest used air quotes to describe something. Correctly. Blew my mind.
